I’ve been familiar with Dutch artist Theo Jansen ever since the BMW commercial about six years ago. Listening to him speak about his vision more closely, gives the impression that this may be more than just art to him. As he describes his walking kinetic sculptures as a new form of life that will, in the future, walk in herds along the coastline of Holland feeding on wind. Thus, he lives on as his creations roam unassisted. Seeing his creatures in action, really are amazing… equally amazing as being able to peer into the mind of their creator.
