Robots — an artist collective based in London that puts old, reclaimed wood to good use. And building a giant robot is just as good a use as any. Recycled wood, old furniture and other disregarded objects all come together to form these sculptures. This means that the end product is greatly determined by the available material. The team also works under the constraints of making the sculptures site specific, so it fits in more naturally and complements the surrounding environment. As they say, “another man’s trash…”
A great, short documentary by Tali Clarke, tells about Robots’ project at Secret Garden Party festival in July 2010.
